Another Parkway Fire

Just reported from Channel 3 News, the 15th Parkway fire since July 29th.

An excerpt.

Firefighters are working to extinguish a grass fire in the American River Parkway that is shooting out flames and smoke.

The one-acre blaze was sparked about 6:20 a.m. Tuesday near Discovery Park, according to Sacramento Fire crews.

The fire moved into trees and heavy bush, but no structures are threatened, firefighters said.

Access to the blaze is difficult for firefighters with one main access point. Crews also have to be mindful of falling branches that have caught fire.
